Outdoor Education
Aim: The aim of the “outdoor education” is to provide the practical knowledge and experience to the students related to the adventure trekking & rural village tourism study.
Mission: Our mission is to impart complete tourism education by bridging the gap of the tourism education with the outdoor practical tourism education.
INCLUDES:
- BASICS OF CAMPING.
The night out stay into the wilderness… into the tented accommodation by doing the activity called ‘do it yourself camping’ with the help of our instructors… at the places like; hill top, rivers banks, forests, valleys etc. (as per the site selection).
- BASICS OF TREKKING INTO‘THE SIKKIM HIMALAYAS’.
- EXPLORE & STUDY THE PLACES OF INTEREST/TOURIST PLACES.
- VERTICAL LIMIT ACTIVITY BASICS (BASICS OF ROPE ACTIVITY)
- OPTIONS OF THE SITE SELECTION:
- VENUE OPTIONS:
- JOURNEY BASED – The venue of the program activity will be away from the residential area.
- RESIDENTIAL BASED – The venue of the program activity will be nearby residential area.

- Day trip - (1 day /2 days/ 3 days & more depending upon the project plan)

Day 1
After breakfast/lunch/refreshments/welcome drinks, orientation and briefing about the course and its aims objective and the mission. Dos & Don’ts of the program.
Students split into groups and each assigned a leader and the instructor or guide.
Distribution of the following trekking equipment:
- Rucksack (Trekking Backpack)
- Tents
- Sleeping Bag
- Rain coat
- Carry mat
- Ice Axe
- Maps
- First Aid
- Etc.
Trek Starts
After the distribution of the trekking equipments to all the students,the demo on how to pack the back pack will be given by our staff / instructor and after the proper packing as per the checklist of the standard of trekking… the trekking will starts… en route; beautiful forest, streams, with its various types of flora and fauna, etc of the Sikkim Himalayas.
En route at rest point one can have the packed energy food provided like; chocolates/sweets/fruits/juices etc. Followed up with some trekking lecture by our instructor….
After reaching at the camp site the welcome drinks like; juices/tea will be served. Once after all will reaches at the camp site the allocation of the tents will be done. After settling down on the tents the orientation & briefing about the camp site… dos and don’ts will be given by our instructors / guides. Then after hot buffet lunch at the camp dinning of the camp site will be served.
After lunch and a few min. rest… the lecture & demo with practical session on –
THE BASICS OF CAMPING
Learn the basic lesson from our instructors about how to set up the tent in the Himalayas.

Evening tea and light veg. snacks/ pokaras & cookies/biscuits. Evening free time and camp fun activity. Camp music & group wise play on the theme of tourism development etc.
Camp Buffet Dinner and overnight stay into the nature campsite.

After refreshing tea… guided morning walk to -
EXPLORE & STUDY THE PLACES OF INTEREST/TOURIST PLACES
Study the part of marvelous Sikkim Himalayas & its basics flora & fauna...
(It may comprise the walk to the viewpoints /nature walk to the forest /climb to the hills for the spectacular and panoramic view of mountain, etc. as per the site selection)
Physically after exploring the places return back to the camp site, freshen up and have the delicious camp buffet breakfast. And get ready for the next session:

Learn the basic lessons about the trekking plan and the ways of quality service operations & sustainable tourism … and know the practical trekking adventure tourism scenario of Sikkim.
(Comprise from; Reservation, Costing, Documentations, Quality Service Operations etc.)

After learning the glimpse of the basics of trekking into the Sikkim Himalayas, the camp buffet lunch will be served at the dining tent and after some time rest get ready for the next session of-
VERTICAL LIMIT ACTIVITY BASICS (BASICS OF ROPE ACTIVITY)
Learn the basics of the rope activity from our trained instructors like; the technique on how to climb and descend from the rock cliff with some types of rope knots etc. And know its effect on the growth of adventure tourism industry.
Evening tea and light veg. snacks/ pokaras & cookies/biscuits. Evening free time and camp fun activity. Camp music etc.
Camp Buffet Dinner and overnight stay into the nature campsite.
Day 3
Morning after refreshing tea and exercise, follow-up of previous activity among the groups. After freshen up the breakfast will be served. The pack up, folding of tent & cleaning of the camp site “Leave no trace”. There will be the testimony/ feedback session before check out from the Camp site. The receiving of the trekking equipments will be done by our staff by thorough checking as per the check list. After returning of all the trek equipments to our staff the outdoor education college field trip will be ended.
(The certificates for the participants will be provided after few days after the course is ended)
